General information on the processing of personal data


Personal data is all data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, user behaviour. The person responsible in accordance with Art. 4 Para. 7 of the EU Data Protection Basic Regulation (DS-GVO) is the executive board named in the imprint of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus. You can reach our data protection officer by e-mail and at our postal address with the addition "to the data protection officer". If the opportunity for the input of data is given, the input of these data takes place voluntarily.


Processing of personal data when visiting our websites


If you use the website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. This serves the purpose of identifying and tracing unauthorised access attempts and access to the web server. Relevant access data is stored for this purpose and - in anonymised form - used to optimise the web offer. Access profiles are not created. The protocol data record contains the following information, which is technically necessary for us to display our website and to guarantee stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f DS- GVO):

  • Content of the request (concrete page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Amount of data transmitted in each case
  • Website from which the request comes (URL from which the file was requested/the desired function was initiated)
  • Browser identification
  • Language and version of the browser software

Access method desired by the requesting computer/entry values transmitted by the requesting computer (e.g. file name)

The logged data is stored for a period of 7 days and then deleted, unless a detected web attack leads to civil or criminal prosecution of the attacker.


Cookies


In addition to the data mentioned above, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard disk, assigned to the browser you are using, and through which certain information flows to the site that sets the cookie (here by us). Cookies cannot execute programs or transfer viruses to your computer. They serve to make the Internet offer as a whole more user-friendly and effective. Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. This includes in particular the session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, with which various requests from your browser can be assigned to the shared session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. The session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time.

Contact forms


When you contact us by e-mail or via a contact form, the data you provide (your e-mail address, your name and telephone number if applicable) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions/process your request. We delete the data collected in this context after the storage is no longer necessary or restrict the processing if there is a legal obligation to retain data. Your contact data will only be used by us for correspondence with you. The data will not be passed on to third parties.


Newsletter & Lists


When registering to receive our newsletter or to be included in the list of participants of our events, the data you provide will be used exclusively for the respective purpose. In addition, as a subscriber you can be informed by e-mail about aspects relevant to the service or registration (for example, changes to the newsletter offer or technical conditions).

For an effective registration we need a valid e-mail address. In order to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an e-mail address, we use the "double-opt-in" procedure. For this purpose, we log the ordering of the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the answer requested hereby. Further data is not collected. The collection of additional features such as an electronic training number for events is optional, only in individual cases and only within the necessary organizational framework. The data will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter or for event organisation and will not be passed on to third parties.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for the newsletter dispatch at any time. In every newsletter you will find a corresponding link. In addition, you can also inform us of your corresponding request by using the contact option at the top of this page.


Virtual and face-to-face events


Our events are accompanied by multimedia technology. By registering and participating, participants agree that the Center for Clinical Neuroscience (Multiple Sclerosis Center) may use photographic and film material taken before, during or after the event until revoked in both online and print format for purposes of press and public relations. Video documentations (stream recordings) will be made of the events (in excerpts), which will be made available to the participants after the event in selected cases. Active participation in the events is possible in text as well as in audio or video form. A personal use of own video and audio transmission is optional for participants, but not obligatory and deactivated on the transmission platform for all participants (except speakers) at the beginning of the event. At the beginning of the event, we inform about a recording. Text contributions such as chat contributions are not part of the recording. Consent to audio or video recording can be revoked at any time and a recording can be ended by switching off your own microphone or video.
Your data will be processed in accordance with the Basic Data Protection Regulation and will be used within the framework of our event organization. You agree to this use with your registration for the event.


SSL Encryption


To protect your data transmitted on our pages in the best possible way, we use SSL encryption. You can recognize such encrypted connections by the prefix "https://" in the page link in the address line of your browser. These websites encrypt information that is transferred between you and the site. Information that is exchanged between your browser and the website is therefore not accessible to third parties.
Nevertheless, no guarantee is given for data security during transmission via the Internet and e-mail. There is a risk that information contained in an unencrypted e-mail and attachments may be intercepted or destroyed during transmission, lost or delayed.

Policy Changes


We reserve the right to amend this data protection declaration from time to time so that it always meets current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection declaration then applies to your next visit.


Mobile Devices


By way of precaution, we would like to point out that when using our products, Internet offers and services by means of so-called mobile devices (smartphones, mobile phones, tablets, etc.), precise location data may be collected, used and passed on, including the geographical location of your mobile device. Some of our web pages contain hyperlinks to other web pages which are not operated by the UKD. We do not monitor these websites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of personal data.


Embedded YouTube Videos


We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells Youtube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your Youtube account, Youtube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your Youtube account beforehand.

The embedding of Youtube videos is done via https://www.youtube-nocookie.com, which only generates technically necessary Youtube cookies.

If a Youtube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior. If you have deactivated the saving of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to deal with such cookies when watching Youtube videos. However, Youtube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you would like to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in the browser.
